A No Name Recipe Until You Decide

1 chocolate-fudge cake mix 1 small box chocolate instant pudding
¾ cup water
3 eggs
¼ cup applesauce
¼ cup vegetable oil
¾ cup chocolate chips, frozen

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease and flour muffin pan or use paper muffin cups.  Mix together cake mix, pudding, water, eggs, applesauce, and oil until smooth.  Stir in chocolate chips last.  Fill cups ¾ full.  Bake about 23-33 minutes or until done when tested with a toothpick.

When you have completed this recipe think about the ingredients that were used.  Look at the food after baked and make up a name for the food you made.  Remember names are meaningful – they reflect characteristics.  What did you decide to name this recipe?

Play Dough Recipe

  •  2 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 2 packages of unsweetened Kool- Aid
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil

Mix flour, salt and Kool- Aid until well blended.  Add boiling water and oil and blend.  When cool enough to handle knead until color is blended.  Store in a plastic bag after totally cooled.

Write or trace names with the play dough:  Roll play dough into ropes and make letters to spell names (If child is very young print first name on paper so child can trace letters to place the play dough ropes to spell their name)    Letter cookie cutters to cut out play dough to spell child’s name and those of others is also fun.
